Hello again friends, It’s the time of year again where we seem to be staying in the garden. If were not hoeing or weeding, we are harvesting something. It’s a very challenging and a rewarding time if you’re a gardener. We’ve been harvesting a lot of different vegetable varieties this season including, onions, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, cabbage, peppers, beans, zucchini.. We have also been busy hosting our Red Bird Farmers Market, which is held on campus, every Saturday, June – October.. We have around ten vendors who bring locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey, eggs, and baked goods.

At our last meeting in June, we had a great turnout of around 46 members and around 15 guests, which is around the average for the month. We distributed bushel and peck baskets for our members to use for harvesting, and we also gave out gallon sprayers and pesticide because as we all know, its that time of year..  We have just a few meetings left this year, where we will mainly be talking about using and preserving the food we have grown throughout the spring and summer.
