Pine Mountain Settlement School
Founded in 1913, Pine Mountain Settlement School has served the community by offering experiential place-based education.
Agricultural and farm education has traditionally been vital to the programmatic effort of the school, and undoubtedly Grow Appalachia has spurred the renaissance of providing quality education around food production. Now in our 16th year, our 40 plus Grow Appalachia families receive a multitude of training from garden planning to agroforestry though our seminar series, The Pine Mountain Farm Institute.
