We have been receiving an overwhelmingly plentiful harvest from our gardens. So our hard work has paid off! We are all thankful but especially the members of the community.  They have had the opportunity to purchase some of the fresh produce from the community and market gardens. (See the picture of the bucket of beans. This is just one of many.  We are especially grateful to the volunteers, one in particular, Lois, for helping to pick some beans.)

People in the community that are also members of the Grow Appalachia program are enjoying harvesting the fruits of their own labor as well. When we went on garden visits, we were so pleased to find the majority of them thriving and looking exceptionally lush and bountiful this year.

We are looking forward to our next workshops on Heart Healthy Cooking and Food Preservation. Learning how to prepare healthy meals and to safely preserve some of our harvest for the Winter.
