On September 13th we had a cooking workshop at Knox Central. We stuffed jalapeno and banana peppers out of the garden and had a great after-school snack.
I was lucky enough during the month of September to attend the Appalachian Food Summit. Many Grow Appalachia folks were there and we were able to hear some great presentations, network, and have some amazing meals.
I was also able to attend the Brushy Fork Institute. I participated in the “Beginning Grant Writing” track. It was a great experience and I am thankful for all the insights shared by everyone at the Institute.
Also during the month of September I collected several oral histories for my project “Stinking Creek Stories.” These oral histories will soon be available online through the UK library.
Now we are prepping for the Daniel Boone Festival.
