Hi this is Justin at the Red Bird Mission Grow Appalachia. This has been a great year so far. Its starting to slow down a bit now for some , but most of our members are going for the fall crops like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, turnips, turnip green, mustard, kale, swiss chard, and many other fall crops. The seed beds are planted and the plant starts are in and all that I’ve seen is doing great.

Can’t wait for the new harvest to show up at our little farmers market we have. The market has been doing well this year. Members have been bringing in a wide variety of beautiful vegetables. It’s been a challenge, but we have been trying to get the community (people that eat just corn, beans, and taters) to try new and different types of vegetables. Most have tried and came back for more or will start growing it them selves.
