The Union County Community Garden Coalition has been given permission from the Union County School System to install a sheet mulch garden at Union County Middle School! We started the project on the 24th, and we’re excited to see this garden grow!
First we laid down cardboard.
We started laying down compost, with the help of some very helpful volunteers!
We plan to plant Fall seeds, with the help of kind citizens and student volunteers. One day we hope to have a garden at every school in the county. This not only teaches kids to garden, but provides them with fresh, organic produce for their lunches.
The lesson I have thoroughly learnt, and wish to pass on to others, is to know the enduring happiness that the love of a garden gives.
