We had a great month of July at the Lend-A-Hand Center Grow Appalachia program!

The first annual “Stinking Creek Garden Tour” was held on July 21. We toured several participants’ gardens and ended at the Knox County Farmers’ Market

We also took a visit to Wildwood Farms to learn about Kris Hubbard’s farm operation and the different herbs, flowers, and vegetables he grows.

We also had a food preservation class hosted by the Knox County Cooperative Extension Office.

On August 1st we had a corn roast after harvesting from the Dewitt Community Garden. We also had Wayne Kirby, the extension agent, come out and talk about fall gardens and season extension.

The Knox County Farmers’ Market is also going strong. We have a booth every week and sell our extra produce from the garden.
