Recently, the Union Co. Community Garden Coalition purchased supplies to begin our value added product program! This includes canning supplies and the finishing touches for our new vendor cart, which we will soon be putting downtown at our Farmer’s Market. We hope to sell a lot of our produce and plants, including pre-made lettuce pallet gardens! We now have chickens, whose eggs will also be sold at the Market.

Value Added Products:

Along with our produce, we plan to sell jams, meals and desserts in a jar. If you’d like to see an example of dessert in a jar, and how you can make it, click here: http://www.bumpsmitten.com/2012/03/diy-tutorial-bump-smitten-mason-jar.html

We’re so excited!

“The lesson I have thoroughly learnt, and wish to pass on to others,

is to know the enduring happiness

that the love of a garden gives.”
