On May 22nd Dewitt Elementary students had a garden work day. They helped plant corn, beans, zucchini, sunflower, and okra. The older students helped make labels for the beds. They also helped mulch the peach trees.
Saakshi Joshi a friend from India who works at the UK Appalachian Center also helped with the kids.

Donnie and Charlotte also helped get the beds ready. John helped the kids plant their zucchinis. Kathryn had the kids identify the different plants and talked about what is needed for plants to grow.
