The Lend-A-Hand Center crew once again participated in the Redbud Festival on the campus of Union College in Barbourville. The event was April 17th and 18th and the weather was perfect. Peggy sold jellies and Irma sold popcorn. Both Peggy and Irma sold copies of their books about Lend-A-Hand. Irma also brought a special friend along which was a huge hit! We’ve been having all sorts of spring babies at Lend-A-Hand and Mary Todd Lincoln is Irma’s favorite. Irma nursed Mary Todd back to health when she was the weakest of a set of triplets and now Mary Todd follows Irma everywhere.

Irma has learned what a “selfie” is and had all the passersby take a picture with the baby goat!

Also at the Redbud, we advertised the Grow Appalachia program and had seed packets to give away. We visited with the other vendors, many of which were members of the Knox County Farmers’ Market, which also had a booth selling t-shirts and bags. We were excited to once again be a part of this great community event!
