Hi, this is Justin Brock at the Red Bird Mission Grow Appalachia. We have been trying to stay busy through the cold weather.
Me and a volunteer redone the green house that is on campus this winter. We put all new Green house plastic on it and a new exhaust fan on one end. It has been needing some work. I’m looking forward to see the community taking advantage of it and what beautiful starts that are going to come out of it.
We have been trying to figure out us a easy to use compost system this year. So we got creative and built some stands for our compose barrels. The stands our built off the ground high enough so you can get a wheel barrel under it to dump the compose out. We put little wheels where the barrel rest on the stand so turning will be easier also. It has worked out so far.
We have been busy on a lot of different projects this winter and signing up our 55 members. I can’t wait till growing season and what the new year brings us.
I think this is going to be a good year for us and hope everyone else has a successful year also.
