Getting a hold of all our gardeners for the Grow Appalachia report has been a long process. It took about 2 weeks to finally get all the harvest numbers, but we have them! It’s looking pretty good so far considering the slow start this year. 1187 lbs of produce has been harvested so far this season. A lot of our growers report that things are just now taking off or coming in, so we expect high numbers for the fall harvest.

The redesign of our school garden is going well so far. We will be getting large quantities of donated mulch next week and are still working on a manure source. We will also need compost, which we are working on making. We have begun to work with a group called InVision Hazard, which will hopefully lead to more visibility, volunteers, and community action. We are continuing to chug along through all of our challenges.
