Although it’s not officially summer for a few more days, we’re thinking about our fall garden.  Specifically, we’re trying to determine if we’ll be able to find cabbage, broccoli and Brussels sprouts transplants locally, or if we’ll need to start our own from seed.

According to Extension, fall cole crop transplants should be set in the garden in early August, and the timeframe from seed to transplant is 5-7 weeks.  Therefore, any of these we have to start from seed will need to be in the containers within the next week and a half.
