Hello Everyone!
I’m Dorothy, the new VISTA working with Lotts Creek’s garden initiative. I have gone out to meet a few of our community gardeners and took pictures of some gardens to share. We just acquired 8 Mr. Stripey heirloom tomato plants for our school garden along with some straw and cage wire for potato barrels. We are also beginning to experiment with jicama. I have soaked the seeds overnight and planted them in small containers for now.
Cool pictures! What was the thought process behind using the bathtubs and tires, and how did you get a hold of them?
They were ideas of one of our community gardeners. I believe he just used what’s old and laying around. I know the sweet potatoes are going to be transplanted to his garden. I didn’t ask many specifics. I can next time I meet with him.
