Red Bird Mission is proud to introduce Justin Brock, he has accepted our Grow Appalachia Coordinator position.

Justin has a strong work ethic, growing up he learned to work hard by spending his summers working for his grandpa; this instilled the desire to work and to raise money for himself.  Growing up he shared that he was also encouraged by Aunt’s and Uncle’s to make ethical and positive spiritual choices.

He is a graduate of Red Bird Christian School and is a native to the community our Grow Appalachia program serves.  He previously worked at the Red Bird Mission Work Camp program which provided him invaluable public relation and time management skills, and familiarity with the hollers and roads in this area.    He also brings experience working in the construction realm, which will translate well for our raised bed building, greenhouse construction, and portable chicken tractor construction.  Justin shared, ” I am very excited to help the community learn to grow and live off the land.  Because I know the area and the people, going out and working with the Grow Appalachia participants will come easy.”

Justin is a committed family man, dedicated to providing for his wife and young daughter.  We congratulate him on accepting this challenging leadership position and recognize the blessing in this opportunity for capacity building of local strong leaders for this community.

I encourage our Grow Appalachia partners to reach out and welcome Justin, he can benefit from your support and your collaboration, reach out to him at jbrock@rbmission.org. Please add him to your GA Listserv.

God Bless, Tracy
