IMG_2967Today is April 16th, 2014; I have nothing planted thus far. My garden has been tilled to plant. However, Ole Man Winter keeps hanging on. The signs are not the best for me right now. Some people do plant now but I am waiting until the signs are out of the thighs, knees, and legs. On April 26th the signs are in the head. This is a good time to get your garden going all the way through May 7th.

Bea says to wait until April 26th to plant, that is when the sign is in the head.

April 18th, Good Friday, is a barren day – DO NOT PLANT!

I have contacted 3 or 4 gardeners this week. One has peas that are already 2 inches tall. Another has started her tomato seeds inside her home in cups; she said they’re growing very good.

In the end when the garden is gone and we think back to winter, we can always enjoy the fresh vegetables we have all grown on our own whether they are canned, frozen, pickled or whatever way you chose to preserve them, it will be well worth it.
