Soup Kitchen

LEAD is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to encourage pride and involvement in our communities and towns. LEAD was created in November 2011 after a small group of concerned citizens decided to band together to form a coalition with the goal of empowering the citizens of Logan County to take pride in their communities and improve their surroundings. We offer many programs including our annual back to school Shoe Voucher Program, Community Soup Kitchen, and After School programs for middle school aged children. LEAD is very excited to incorporate gardening into our array of programs available to the community. With the addition of the Grow Appalachia program we hope to assist numerous families within the community with their gardening efforts to help sustain their current food needs.

LEAD’s partners include In Action that gathered donated food to serve 1600 meals and give an additional 8 tons of food to the Salvation Army last Thanksgiving and will work with LEAD and Step by Step to give away fresh produce and encourage families to join Grow Appalachia in the future.
