Hi everyone!

It was great to meet the Grow Appalachia family at our summit in Berea.  I look forward to networking and discussing ideas with all of you.

Yesterday we had an initial workshop, discussing garden mapping and planning.  All our participated seem very eager to start a garden, and it was a beautiful thing to see all of their smiling, stunned faces when we told them we would be providing them with seeds and the tools they would need for a successful, sustainable garden!

The families that participated also expressed interest in spreading the word, and getting more families involved.  I already have received an email from a participant, calling our first workshop an “uplifting morning”.  I’ll be working on the tiller this afternoon, and be tilling the Ecumenical Faith in Action garden tomorrow – as well as some of our participant’s future garden space!
