Last night we held our third annual fall harvest celebration picnic and it was AWESOME !!! We had forty seven of our members attend all who brought dishes prepared form their gardens and or live stock provided by Red Bird Mission and Grow Appalachia. Our total attendance including family members and non- members top over sixty people coming together in fellowship over great healthy local grown food.

Last night’s group was all very excited to be there and I could obviously see the growth of community among these members. They were all networking, sharing garden ideal, problems and answers, canning recipes and tricks of the trade. A few of them even shared things with each other such as , homemade butter, milk, blackberries and honey.
After everyone’s stomach was full we had a door prize give away. Several of the items that were distributed were donated by David Lord Of Knoxville Tennessee. Everyone left with something in there hand, a full stomach and smiles on their face……Success!!!
