I was gone on vacations that week. Traveling through Alabama I saw lots of watermelons for sale. In Destin, local farmers had set up small markets in front of shopping centers selling those wonderful southern peaches and tomatoes. It reminded me of home, just a slightly different venue. We are all busy canning green beans and making pickles. It been a wonderful growing year in Lee County for corn, cabbage and cucumbers but tomatoes are not doing too well. I think we have had too much rain and not enough sun. I am adding some pictures of one of the prettiest gardens I have seen this year. I call it Mark’s little slice of heaven.
Maybe your tomatoes will make a comeback!
