Last week was the grand opening of this years Jackson County Farmers Market, located in Annville, KY. We are very excited to have one of our own GA participants selling their fresh, home-grown organic veggies.

The Farmer’s Market kicked off in true southern style with a cannon blast heard for miles around. It might have even leveled a couple of the Jackson County Jail plants located just behind the farmer’s market shelter. The State Ag Commissioner Comer was present as well as many UK Extension staff, and six GA families coming to show their support.

The Yarbrough family was all smiles as they were busy helping customers. Great food with NO Chemicals!!!

The Farmers market is taking place in various places in Jackson County.

Mondays in Annville at 3pm, Tuesdays in Annville at 11 am, Wednesdays in Sand Gap at 3pm, Thursdays in Annville at 3 pm and Fridays in McKee at 11 am. Come check us out!

We were very excited to share this special day with Constance, The Foundation Director for John Paul DeJoria and David Cook, Director of Grow Appalachia. We were able to give them a quick tour of the Jackson County Jail garden, The Yarbrough’s Family garden, and pictured here Ms. Vicker’s garden. Although is was a HOT day, everyone enjoyed themselves.
