The Jackson County Detention Center’s work release crews have been working on the expanded garden.
The garden is located on Welchburg Road in Annville, and has now expanded to around three acres. This year’s crop has expanded not only in size, but also in variety of plants. These include: tomatoes, peppers, corn, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, onions, and potatoes.
Last year, the garden saved the county around two thousand dollars per month and this year it is expected to be more.
