The end of the summer here in Jackson County has been a whirlwind!
We were blessed to be able to put on a Farm to Table dinner at Grace Covenant Ministries, in partnership with the Jackson County Community Foundation! Grace Grows was a recipient of the “Grow One, Give One” grant, that gave us the ability to grow even more produce, and share our harvests with our community.

The Farm to Table dinner featured locally raised beef and chicken from G & R Meat Market in McKee, prepared by Kyle and Julie Smith! Each one of our Grace Grows families brought a delicious side dish, prepared with fresh ingredients from their gardens. We had tomato pie, pasta salads, bruschetta, fresh salsa from our canning class, and so much more!
The evening also included live music, a silent auction, and a time of sharing about the Grow Appalachia program!

Through the past couple months, we continued our educational classes for our garden families. Our most recent classes went over water bath canning, and soil health!
We have learned so much throughout this summer, and we are incredibly thankful for all of the opportunities we have been given through this program.
We look forward to sharing the knowledge we have gained with others, and putting it to good use!
