Grow Giles continues to grow and produce strong!  Yesterday, we had our Preserving the Harvest session.  Dawn Barnes, FCS Agent for Floyd and Montgomery counties came and walked our participants through a hands-on water bath canning workshop.  Participants had the choice of canning blueberries, blackberries, or raspberries.  All are high-acid foods and can safely be water bath canned.  Each participant got to take home their jar of berries that they processed!

As we know, following researched and tested canning recipes is always the way to go.  The National Center for Home Food Preservation should always be a go-to.Three women working together to can raspberries. Two women working together to can fruit.
