We are excited to welcome everyone back for another season of Grow Appalachia!
We had our first meeting in February, where we gathered for a welcome and orientation. It was so good to see familiar faces and meet new participants who are joining us for the first time. There is always something special about the beginning of the season. Everyone is full of excitement and full of anticipation of what is to come.

This month, we also held our first gardening class, focused on the basics. We spent time talking about planning your garden, preparing your soil, and setting a strong foundation for a successful growing season. Whether you are a seasoned gardener or just getting started, these early steps are so important and can make all the difference as the season progresses.
We have also begun distributing supplies. Participants have received cool and warm weather seeds, onion sets, seed potatoes, and fertilizer to help get their gardens started. It is always exciting to see everyone preparing and thinking ahead to planting.

We would like to extend a special thank you to our Master Gardeners who volunteered their time to help sort seeds. We are very grateful for their support and continued partnership.
We would also like to recognize the McCreary Central High School FFA program for once again growing our plants this year. They have done a wonderful job, and we truly appreciate their hard work and dedication. It is a blessing to partner with young people who are learning and contributing in such meaningful ways.

As we begin this new season, we are looking forward to seeing gardens grow, knowledge shared, and community strengthened. Thank you to everyone who is part of this program. We are excited for what this year will bring!
