The weather has been playing tricks on everyone here, we go from hot one day to being fall weather the next. we just finished having our end of the year pot luck. It was a huge success. We had homemade chicken and dumpling and everyone brought a side dish. We all sat around and enjoyed each others stories of how well some of the participants did and then we had one like Erica who ended up loosing her whole garden to mites that she had brought home from a greenhouse on her pepper plants.  The only way she is going to be able to get rid of them is to burn off all of her garden space this fall.

During the season I was giving points for each different thing that was done throughout the program. At the pot luck everyone received tickets, depending on how much they interacted with the program for prize drawing at the end of the meal. Everyone was able to go home with something.  Terry brought us two large watermelons from her garden. She told me she had 30 more still growing and was going to make  jam with them, I’m looking so forward to see how that turns out.

Just about everyone has decided to do fall crops or mustard and kale as a cover crop. I’m looking so forward to see what next year will bring for everyone.
