After some unfortunate vandalism in May, we were certain this year’s potato harvest from our community gardens would be pretty uneventful. Much to our surprise, the remaining seed potatoes did quite well, and we had both red and yellow varieties to harvest!

Our four summer garden apprentices had a great time sifting out, washing, and sharing the crop with neighbors. In the end, we ended up with a few pecks of each variety. While it wasn’t the yield we originally hoped for, it gave each of us joy to see how resilient our crops could be.
