We had a great Heart Healthy Cooking workshop in June and were able to bring back three of our previous gardeners to present to us. Traci and Bill are both professionally trained chefs. We were also delighted to have a nutritionist, Maria there to teach us in detail how it all works scientifically. And if that wasn’t enough, we also had Wendy, another previous gardener speak to us about some alternative vegan options. It was truly incredible to say the least! I was able to Sous-chef alongside the pros and learned much that I did not know. Traci and Bill have a past history of major health concerns which led them to change what they were eating as a whole. They had to! We are so thrilled that they were able to come in and teach our gardeners some new approaches to eating delicious foods in a much more healthy way. We had several dishes to offer, including Ratatouille, roasted zucchini, Waldorf salad, cucumber salad, Tapenade, and chocolate hummus were and they were all delicious. My favorites were the Ratatouille and Tapenade! We all left full bellied, and full of knowledge. I could go on and on about how special everyone is and how they amaze me so much, but just know that there are no words to describe how grateful I am to know all of these folks!
