Gardening is off to a great start! We discussed starting plants from seeds, transplanting, how ground cover can benefit you, and so much more! We demonstrated how to transplant successfully and discussed that it’s best to transplant during the evening hours and to water generously after. We also discussed the benefits of having a pollinator garden close by or incorporating pollinator plants into your garden. Participants received their very own organic broccoli and cabbage to transplant into their gardens, as well as some organic potatoes! The demo garden housed at the Extension Office has a few of last years garlic, this years transplants, and a pollinator garden close by. We also have some ground cover in one of the raised bed gardens to show the difference it can make in weed control, etc. We are excited for what this growing season will bring!
