Spring has sprung in our garden program!

Our garden program kicks off the growing season! We’ve seen a tremendous response from both Scott County, TN and McCreary County, KY, and expect to have over 80 gardeners participating. We had an orientation meeting on February 22th, where new gardeners met the Grow Appalachia team, received a comprehensive participant binder filled with helpful gardening resources, and enjoyed a class on garden planning and soil samples. It was a full house, and we’re excited to see what these gardeners will grow this season!

On March 2nd, we offered a poultry workshop for our participants, covering topics on everything you need to know to create a healthy environment to raise chickens.

Thanks to our amazing Grow Appalachia volunteers, we sorted and bagged an impressive 350 pounds of potatoes and prepped a massive amount of seeds!
