It has been a whirlwind of a garden season here in Pine Mountain. It seems as though we were just getting the ground ready for planting, and now we have made it to harvest time and preservation time. Our grow Appalachia members have given us great ideas for pressure canning, dehydrating and vacuum sealing. My personal favorite is dehydrated basil tomatoes, they are delicious. We were also invited in August and September to set up a Farmers Market at the hospital for all ARH employees to be able to visit. It has been a huge success. The hospital employees love getting fresh fruits and vegetables. We love getting to provide it, with the help of course from some of our Grow app members. What a bountiful and blessed harvest year we have had.
