This year’s canning party was exceptionally awesome! For starters, Martha Henry from UT Extension, Hamblin County led our presentation. Then as a group effort, we made pepper jelly and garlic pickles. There was one glitch because our pepper jelly didn’t set and make a firm jelly. Still, it makes fantastic syrup for waffles, muffins, pancakes, etc… I know some were disappointed but this accident really proves a point about the flexibility and power of choice one gains when growing and preserving their own foods. We choose what success is and this is really great hot-pepper syrup!! No waste here.
