Since their beginning, the LPH Community Gardens have provided opportunities for neighbors in Lower Price Hill to come together beyond growing food. The community gardens double as public green spaces, sites to host community events, and places to explore creativity. Year-round, nearly 1,000 neighbors activate the gardens resulting in vibrant, community hubs.

It’s no surprise then that you’ll find remnants of these other opportunities throughout our garden spaces. In the Sassafras Garden, there is a digging hole for kids to explore, a gazebo for gathering, and plenty of art projects.

This spring, we had several youth artists help make labels for our compost bins and raised beds. They were installed this week and definitely add extra bits of color and personality to the space!
