Hello garden friends,

March is full of growing madness! Madness meaning, starting hundreds of seeds, hardening-off plants, and finally getting vegetable and flower plugs into the ground.  Mother Nature provided a bit of weather madness too. Like highs in the 70’s,  lows in the 20’s, and snow!  But the gardeners and I welcome Spring’s arrival with the first succession of planting in Over-the-Rhine People’s Garden located in the inner city of Cincinnati, Ohio. Check out what we’ve been up to!

Our incredible community gardener, Jill, has been hard at work seed starting at the Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati. In early April she is preparing to distribute around 1,000 plant starts to all interested community gardeners in the city for free!  The cool weather  plant starts she is so graciously donating include: cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, greens, lettuce, and onions. We look forward to sharing our success stories from this event with you in next months blog. Stay tuned!
