Do you keep a journal about your experiences working on the farm or in the gardens? Survivors participating in our stipend program spend one hour a week writing reflections about their week on the farm. It’s a meaningful way to appreciate a hard day’s work and the healing power of the fresh air.

Most of our journal entries begin with descriptions of the skills learned. Then, more often than not, the writings begin to reflect on peacefulness, recollections of family memories, and dreams for the future. Guess these thoughts just have a way of finding us when we’re surrounded by nature.

This month, stipend participants wrote so many wonderful reflections that we couldn’t pick just one to share with you. So, we’ve chosen short inspirational quotations from each of them!
