Last week Randall Lester and the Alderson USDA Plants and Materials Center graciously hosted our Plant Starting workshop with all of our participants in tact! The USDA center is allowing our Grow Appalachia site use their greenhouses to store all of our participants seed starts and our GA seed starts that will be sold at the Alderson and Summers counties farmers markets for site-generated revenue! We will also be transplanting some of these starts into the Alderson Community Garden for our GA plot.

It was a wonderful time and a great way for everyone to come together as a GA family and learn just how important community is not just for Alderson or Appalachia but the entire world. The kindness and hope for a fruitful and beautiful spring and summer was felt by all and we here cannot wait to see what lies ahead for our farms and gardens!ga workshop pic

Together we planted around two-thousand or more seeds of a variety of soon-to-be delicious tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, okra and more to enjoy the months ahead of us.

Oh and wait! In addition to the planting fun, we distributed the GA organic fertilizer to everyone and were thanked with nothing but smiles!!!!
