Hello Grow Appalachia Friends!
It’s February in Cincinnati, OH and it seems like Punxsutawney Phil’s 6 more weeks of winter prediction was a little off. Recent record breaking warm temperatures and the arrival of beautiful yellow daffodil blooms makes it feels as if spring has already sprung. Over-the-Rhine People’s Garden is getting ready for the season a little earlier this year.
During one of our recent workdays Civic Garden Center’s community garden coordinator, Greg, pruned all of our delicious gooseberry bushes.
Tick-Tock, when do you think our Asparagus will pop up? Nothing yet…
Doesn’t our Over-the-Rhine People’s Garden mural looks beautiful against the red brick and blue sky?
Sage is packed with vitamins and has amazing health benefits. Start incorporating this amazing herb into your diet ASAP. Try roasting it with some home grown sweet potatoes.
“The best one yet!” Thank you Grow Appalachia Headquarters and all the other site coordinators for a fantastic 2017 GA Gathering!
For more updates from Over-the-Rhine People’s Garden check back in with us on the 25th of March. Thanks for reading!
