Hello gardeners!
July is flying by! Maybe it’s because here in Cincinnati we were so busy preparing the garden for Civic Garden Centers Community Gardens Tour that took place on Tuesday, July 19th. This year’s garden tour focused on three projects representing the Civic Garden Center’s historic Community Garden Program’s innovative approach for creating neighborhood-based gardens to serve evolving and diverse populations. Grow Appalachia’s Over-the-Rhine People’s Garden was one of the three gardens! Guests from all over town were invited to come take a close look at these three gardens to witness the positive impact these gardens are having in their respective communities. All three gardens served food bites from the garden too.
We had a wonderful evening sharing stories and laughing together. We all agreed we need to do another party this fall, maybe around the time the sweet potatoes are ready;) Check out the highlights our gardeners caught on film. See you all again in August with another summer update!
