September’s Grow Appalachia group met on Tuesday to go over timely information about cover crops. Jeremy did a great job going over various cover crop options in detail, and Grow Appalachia will provide a combination cover crop to any participant who wants some.
Has anyone ever tried a chayote? They are squash like plants related to cucumbers and melons, native to Central and South America. One of our members brought an example to show us and will be trying to grow it inside throughout the winter months.
We also got to congratulate all of our Scott County Fair winners! Look at all of those ribbons from Grow Appalachia members, who earned them using the produce they grew with this program! Terrific job!
