Dorothy Feltner from Lotts Creek Community School reporting in for a catch up post.

I had missed last week’s post. Last week I was making a delivery to our Fly-By Gardens site in Chavies, KY. On Tuesday 4/7/15 I had spent the morning gathering materials for a straw bale garden demonstration. Its was raining really hard on my way from Lotts Creek Learning Garden. I was coming up on a sharp turn and attempted to slow down before entering the turn. I instead began sliding on the water slowly towards the mountain I tried to aim away from the mountain and lost control of my vehicle. I slammed into and through a gate, went down the mountain, and through a fence into a cow pasture. I was miraculously unhurt and drove my car out of the cow pasture and back up to road. I have been in a stressful battle with my insurance company, who wants to total my car. As an Americorps VISTA I don’t have enough money to fix the situation and there are no avenues of assistance through Americorps and I am not allowed to just make more money. The future is currently very uncertain. Without a car I cannot do my Americorps position in the area I live, so I hoping to find a solution soon.
