Hello again! This is David Cornette from Hindman Settlement School and I’m pretty happy that this whole “spring” thing is officially here. Since the snow was kind enough to leave us alone for a few days, we’ve been able to till up a garden spot for a few of our participants, as well as an additional spot on our own campus. We were also finally able to get some peas planted — it feels so good to know that we finally have seeds in the ground!

Our recruitment meeting was a success, and we were happy to see new and old participants alike mingling and swapping stories. Our first formal participant meeting is this Tuesday, March 24th where we will be welcoming our new families and holding a workshop on Garden Planning. We are also planning a seed swap for the following week, as requested by several of our gardeners.

That’s all for now. If you’re still reading this, it means you are probably inside at a computer and not in the garden, so go plant some seeds or something!
