It sure was a good thing Garden Coordinator, Bashi, was able to get the season extension beds up before the 4 inches of snow hit us in Cincinnati, OH! Just in the nick of time!
We have planted our beds with greens and have plans to teach our garden participants how to extend their growing season.
On another unexpected note, Garden Coordinator Christina Matthews, brought her parents to the People’s Garden over the weekend for the first time. While touring the garden, her father Jim couldn’t believe his eyes when he noticed the closed building facing our garden was The Hudepohl Beer Bottling Company. This is where his father worked before retiring. Jim spent lots of time playing where the garden now is. None of us made the connection until we looked up and read the sign. It was a another example of how Grow Appalachia has connected people. It was a great family day in the garden for Christina and her parents!
