We are winding down our summer gardens here in Breathitt County.  Thirty families have benefited this year from the Grow Appalachia program.  Looking forward, we have 10 families who have moved into fall gardening.  We worked with RCARS and provided cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, kale and many other choices for good fall crops.  Participants picked up the plants on Monday and were eager to get them in the ground.  Fall gardening in Breathitt County has traditionally been nonexistent.  We are hoping these ten families see the benefits of it and let their friends and neighbors know of the opportunities that present themselves for fall gardening.  We are looking forward to seeing their production and thankful for Grow Appalachia making this opportunity possible.
