Beets-in-Buckets

Greetings from Park Place!

On July 25th Devan Crabtree, my fellow summer VISTA, and I went up to the Vance Community Garden. It was a light work day as it was River’s Way’s last day of camp. We weeded pathways and beds, making sure that the garden would look nice until School starts again.  We harvested and cleaned 3 pecks of beets and then said our goodbyes. It was a bittersweet day.

Devan and I then we moved on to work on the Tech GYRLS plots located on the other side of the Community Garden. We were surprised to see the number and size of pumpkins we had. Our Kale was still great shape and the Scarlet Runners were looking tremendous. We are definitely having great produce coming out of both gardens.
