If you happen to be passing through Alderson, WV, look for our new electric fence surrounding the community garden at St. Mary of the Greenbrier Church! This beauty-of-a-structure was made possible by Catherine Goggins (our summer intern), funding from Grow Appalachia and One Foundation, and a fleet of hard working volunteers. Deer and other critters have already wreaked havoc on some of our crops, but we are hoping this will put an end to the carnage once and for all.

On another note, here are a few photos from our recent food preservation workshop. We are fortunate to have access to the old home economics room at the Alderson Community Center (formerly the local high school) – now a certified community kitchen.
