The Grow Appalachia program has been a blessing for the Pine Mountain Community and for Pine Mountain Settlement School over these past four years. As the growing season comes to a close we begin thinking about the holiday season and all that we are thankful for. Grow Appalachia has shown us how generous people can truly be. The entire program would not be possible with out the generous support of John Paul DeJoria. I don’t know if he will ever understand the huge impact he has made in our communities. His generosity extends deep into the program, inspiring participants to share food with neighbors, senior citizen centers, and food pantries.

We want to continue working on community agriculture issues long into the future, and we don’t want to be completely dependent on our compassionate benefactor. This holiday season, we are calling on your sense of generosity to support the Pine Mountain Settlement School Grow Appalachia program.
We are selling high quality 2014 wall calendars as a fundraiser for our program. Calendars are $15 each (+ shipping) and all profits will go directly to the Pine Mountain Grow Appalachia project to help fund 2014 programming. Calendars feature regional planting dates, gardening quotes, national holidays, and pictures of beautiful people and produce from the 2013 year.
