Todays garden and harvest

The cole crops are growing like crazy in spite of almost no rain since they went in. I have to water frequently. Thankfully I think the shorter days and cool dewy nights are helping them as much as watering.
Perhaps you’ve noticed the swim noodles on tobacco stakes in the back. My attempt to keep the deer at bay. We have a few pie tins on the other side, and I actually think the shredded paper is scaring them too. They were using the garden as their playground and especially were eating the red cabbage, but since the night we did all that I don see any sign they’ve been back.
I’ve been making these salads everyday this week. They are soooooo good! I found a White balsamic citrus dressing at Kroger’s a while back and it suits these greens deliciously. Sue @ LMU
