Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program
By D

I’m blessed in so many ways working with BDVP. There are so many opportunities. Yesterday, I was interviewed by “kNOwMORE” [for a program that will be broadcast on KET] talking about the farm and myself as a survivor. Although nervous, I nailed it. I planted plants and got a nice sunburn. It feels good to be back after taking care of some business and self-care. Again, I want to thank my bosses and staff for everything. After taking some time to get things taken care of, it felt good to get dirty again. Weeding the hoop houses and transplanting & repotting plants, I can’t believe the progress on the whole farm. Thank you to the other workers and my bosses. Our flower hoop house is blooming and we can even make a few arrangements. (23 May 2013)

This post is part of a series written by survivors of domestic violence who are participating in our farm stipend project.
