This beautiful weather here in Eastern KY is perfect for gardening. I drove by the local True Value and Walmart yesterday and both garden sections were full of people eager to get those plants in the ground. There were buggy loads of tomatoes, peppers, and flowers and happy faces ready to get their hands dirty. I even noticed via facebook that one of my former coworkers had taken off a day of work to plant her garden. My, the joys of spring!

In our Grow Appalachia gardens we are anxiously awaiting our next educational session which is coming up in a couple weeks. We intentionally scheduled it then so we could avoid the final frost date. Our participants are seeing this weather and want to get their tomatoes, and peppers and such in the ground. Our program assistant is making his way around to all of the gardens and life is good here in Breathitt County.
