The joy of seeing people work in the garden!

The last two mondays we’ve worked in the garden instead of having a meeting.  It is such a joy seeing the garden full of people preparing and planting their beds.  The last pic is of the asparagus bed which if you look hard you can see some growing.  Last week several of us laid down several layers of newspaper then put straw on top of it.  We don’t cover the asparagus just both sides of the rows.  We’ve harvested at least a couple handfuls so far.  Who knows how much we’ve eaten while in the garden.  It is very yummy.  I took a pic (I thought) of Mr. Bill getting the spot ready for our high tunnel but alas it didn’t turn out.  Tomorrow we go to the Organic Garden Day at UT.  Then thurs and fri we put up our high tunnel.  A very busy week.  Sue at LMU
